You can pull 3 and still miss the Unique. This usually works, but I’m sure it’s really randomized/rigged for Unique cards. (So if I want the fourth card before shuffling, I will pull the 2nd card) Just my experience, when drawing a random card out of 5, I pull the card that is the mirror inverse of the card I want pre-shuffling.

(Maxed) Mortar spam can clear all 75 Hard waves, but will falter a bit once the newer enemies join in. So grind early (roughly around the Forester part when it first becomes available, the hardest enemy you can face is Trolls and Harpies).ġ.
